Taking the Bus from Essaouira to Marrakech
There are two main bus companies that offer comfortable transportation throughout Morocco: CTM and SupraTours. If you search for “CTM Bus” or “SupraTours” on Google Maps in any city, chances are the terminal will immediately pop up.
There are also cheaper options, but they are less frequented by tourists, making information about them a little harder to find. Some of our friends asked locals for advice and managed to get a ticket from a lesser-known bus company. Their only complaint was that the legroom was a little tighter.
To find out more about these alternative bus companies, you can check out the Lagare website. This platform is great for checking bus company options and schedules in Morocco. We also tried booking through this site, but had trouble accessing the payment page. Despite its sometimes erratic performance, we found it useful for planning our public transportation journeys throughout Morocco.
Booking Tickets
You can book tickets online with CTM or SupraTours.
Alternatively, it is also possible to buy your tickets directly at the bus terminal.
The Marrakech bus terminals for CTM and SupraTours are easy to find and are located close to each other, near the main train station.
It is possible to buy a ticket upon arrival at the terminal, but you are not guaranteed a seat. Tourism in Morocco can be very busy at certain times of the year.
